When you're writing your personal statement, or college application essays, one of the biggest mistakes you can make is to keep talking about your thoughts and feelings. Admissions officers don't want you to tell them the kind of person you are. They want you to show them.
Remember: your actions tell your story. Write about what you did in response to certain situations. What you do shows who you really are, especially in difficult situations. Talk is cheap.
